ABOUT THEM:
Area 7 was formed in 1999 in Lima, when sisters Diana and Fatima Forunda decided to form a grunge covers band to play the songs of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana. After a few membership lineup changes they settled into the all girl lineup which included Ellis Sanches on rhythm guitar and Illari Arbe on drums.
From 2000 to 2003 the band matured and increasingly gained popularity to the point that they attracted support band roles for some other key Peruvian music acts. Then in 2004 they signed to Morrison records and released their first EP. From this point on Area 7 broke beyond the borders of Peru and gained popularity in our latin rock music markets such as Brazi, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.
They released their 'Soul Machine' album in 2006 and added a fifth member Evelyn Matos in 2007. They released their 2nd album '1.9.8.4' album in 2010 and continue to build their audiences across the latin world with increasing interest also for them in English speaking markets.
